Shared Lunch for the Cancer Council
On Friday 13th May, the Brisbane TTSPH Team gathered together to share a lunch in support of the Cancer Council.
The Cancer Council is an Australian nonprofit organisation that aims to raise funds to support those impacted by cancer, particularly through research, patient care, prevention and early detection. The Cancer Council takes pride in improving the quality of life for those living with cancer, and constantly striving to find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.
For lunch, each staff member was encouraged to bring a plate of food from their culture to share with all staff. As indicated in the image below, there was a great spread that was enjoyed by all.
At the lunch, we also held a raffle to raise money to donate to the Cancer Council. As a team we raised a total of $310.80, which was a great effort all round! Mr Shida kindly donated $2 for every $1 we donated, bringing the amount raised to $932.40. Mr Shida agreed to round the total donation up to $1000.00, which was a very great outcome.
