The 20th Group Technical Skills Contest normally held in Sydney, was held at Asco Motors Training Centre in Suva Fiji for the first time and was a great success.

Saturday the 23rd of July 2011 the National Skills Contest was held at the Asco Motors Head Office and Dealership facility in Suva. Thanks to the excellent team work and planning by all involved the event was a huge success. Thank you to everyone involved in the preparation for this event with special mention to Maria Leqeta, Ranju Kumar and Jinesh Lal from Fiji, Mark Sinclair from Brisbane and Volker Weitz from Oceania Training for the success of the event.

The Skills Contest itself started with the contestants showing a high level of nervous activity .... and that was only for the pre competition photo’s !!
Contestants soon settled down to do what they do best and got into the diagnosing and repairing of the vehicles in the tasks and they showed their abilities well. The event ran like clockwork and all work station movements went to plan due to the coordination of the judges which was driven by Volker and Mark.
